Trans people represent hope and new chances, like the first hint of sun dripping through the window at daybreak. We represent growth and transformation at your fingertips. Together, we dare to dream of a better future: one that’s warm and inviting, where everyone feels safe and encouraged to be who we are—no matter our genders, the color of our skin, or where we live.
Iris Flowers have taken on many symbolic meanings throughout history. In the context of Trans & Caffeinated, they represent hope, wisdom, and transformation.
Hope for a brighter future. Hope that our struggle is not for nought, that the passion we pour into creating the world we dream of pays off in the end. Hope that our children and our childrens’ children will grow up in a world that honors and loves them just as they are, no matter who they are.
Wisdom of knowing who we are, in spite of those who tell us we’re wrong. Generational wisdom, cultivated by and passed down through a long lineage of transcestors who laid down the foundation and sometimes their lives to fight for the world we live in now.
Transformation, and the ability to create ourselves anew in the image of what we want for ourselves, not what we’re told we should want.
Iris flowers are also featured in the Trans & Caffeinated logo.
Candles represent hope and warmth. With one candle, a cold, dark room gains enough light to read a book; it gains enough heat to warm your handles. With a million candles, we can light the pathway to liberation; we can transform any grey and dreary home into one that’s warm, welcoming, and inviting to all.
Coffee because we love coffee. It’s not always that deep.
Profits are divided between Trans & Caffeinated, a trans-owned consulting company (40%), Soft Velvet Boy (40%), a Vietnamese trans-owned graphic designer, and House of Tulip (20%), a BIPOC trans-led mutual aid in NOLA. House of Tulip works to provide safe and stable housing to trans women of color in NOLA, with the understanding that housing instability is one of the most significant predictors of anti-trans violence.
